FANS HELP TIGERS RAISE DONATIONS FOR BREAST CANCER
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers want to thank all the fans who helped the Tigers ‘Stick It’ to Breast Cancer on Saturday, October 30th against the Chilliwack Bruins. During the warm up and 1st period of the game, all Tigers’ players used pink composite sticks, as a tribute to Breast Cancer Awareness.
Following the 1st period, all the sticks were autographed and auctioned off with all proceeds from the auction, raffle and donation bins going to support Breast Cancer Research through the Canadian Cancer Society in Medicine Hat.
In total, $7618.39 was raised, with Tigers forward Emerson Etem‘s game used stick receiving the highest bid, followed by
goaltender Tyler Bunz‘s.
Including last season’s initiatives, The Medicine Hat Tigers and their fans have helped raise $26,600.00 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
All sticks were donated by the Medicine Hat Tigers Hockey Club and were wrapped with a very special design.
“We want to thank all our fans for their generosity towards such a worthy cause,” said Tigers Captain Wacey Hamilton. “All the players were proud to lend their support by using the sticks during the game.”
