Raiders, Hitmen completed trade involving forwards Brandon Gorzynski and Ty Meunier
Prince Albert, Sask. – The Prince Albert Raiders have acquired 18-year-old forward Brandon Gorzynski from the Calgary Hitmen. In exchange, Calgary receives 17-year-old forward Ty Meunier, a 2026 2nd round pick, and a 2027 4th round pick.
Gorzynski is enjoying a fantastic start to his third WHL season. The Scottsdale, AZ product has 13 goals and 16 assists in 27 games this season. He was second in team scoring in Calgary, and his 29 points ranks tied for third in scoring among all Raiders. He has seven powerplay goals this season, which is tied for Daxon Rudolph for the most on the team.
In 137 career WHL games, Gorzynski has 34 goals and 46 assists for 80 points. He was a first round pick by the Hitmen in the 2022 U.S. Priority Draft, where he was taken 15th overall. The left winger is also an NHL draft pick, selected by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round of the 2025 draft.
Meunier was the seventh overall pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft. In his rookie season in 2024-25, the St. Albert, AB product scored 14 goals and added 15 assists. So far this season, Meunier has scored six goals and added nine assists in 29 games.
