CIS CANADA-WEST CONFERENCE REPORT – University of Alberta Golden Bears forward Ben Thomson enjoyed a five-point weekend as the Golden Bears swept two-game series with the University of Regina Cougars.

rThomson, a former member of the Western Hockey League’s Medicine Hat Tigers, chipped in two assists in Friday’s win over the Cougars, then scored a goal and two assists in Saturday’s win. The sophomore Golden Bear now finds himself in fifth in Canada-West scoring.

rUniversity of Manitoba Bisons forward Paul Deniset moved into a tie for the Canada-West scoring lead with a hat trick on Saturday versus the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. Deniset, who played with four different WHL teams, leads all Canada-West goal scorers with 22 goals.
