Verhoeff, DuPont, Rudolph to Captain Canada at 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup
Piestany, Svk. – Victoria Royals defenceman Keaton Verhoeff will Captain Team Canada at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
Everett Silvertips defenceman Landon DuPont and Prince Albert Raiders defenceman Daxon Rudolph will serve as alternate captains, Hockey Canada announced Friday.
Verhoeff captained Team Canada White at the U17 World Hockey Challenge, winning a gold medal. DuPont captained Team Canada Red at the same tournament, taking home a silver medal.
Rudolph captained Team Canada at the 2024 Youth Olympic Games, while Verhoeff served as an assistant.
Verhoeff, 17, led all Victoria Royals defencemen in goals this season with 21.
Canada’s quest for a four-peat at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup begins Monday, August 11 with a game against Finland.
