Gordon-Carroll, Varga named alternate captains for USA at 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup
Brno, Cze – Medicine Hat Tigers forward Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll and Kelowna Rockets forward Kalder Varga will serve as alternate captains for Team USA at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, USA Hockey announced Friday.
Gordon-Carroll captained Team USA at the 2024 Youth Olympic Games, helping to win a gold medal for the red, white, and blue.
The 16-year-old forward is fresh off a WHL Championship-winning season with the Tabbies, where he tallied 25 points in 55 regular season games and five points in 17 playoff games.
Varga completed a successful rookie campaign with the Rockets, finishing top-10 on the team in both goals and points.
The Geneva, IL product was the seventh overall selection in the 2023 U.S. Priority Draft.
Team USA begins the tournament Monday, August 11, when they face Slovakia.
