Thunderbirds forward Myatovic signs entry-level contract with Anaheim Ducks
Seattle, Wash.- Seattle Thunderbirds forward Nico Myatovic has signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Anaheim Ducks, the team announced Friday.
The contract is set to start in the 2024-25 season, with Myatovic reporting to the Duck’s American Hockey League affiliate, the San Diego Gulls, on an amateur tryout for the remainder of this season.
Myatovic tallied nine goals and 21 assists for 30 points in 34 games with Seattle this season, tying for second among Thunderbirds skaters in points-per-game (.88).
The 19-year-old helped the Thunderbirds claim the club’s second Ed Chynoweth Cup, adding four goals and three assists in 19 playoff games, including the championship-clinching penalty shot goal against Winnipeg. Myatovic netted a goal and three assists in five games in the 2023 Memorial Cup.
Myatovic was selected by Anaheim in the second round, 33rd overall, of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
The Prince George, B.C. product has 46 goals and 75 assists for 121 points and a +47 rating in 181 games over four seasons with the Thunderbirds.
