Royals acquire Bryks from Thunderbirds
The Victoria Royals have announced the acquisition of Graeme Bryks from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for a conditional seventh-round selection in the 2022 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.
Last year, Bryks, an 18-year-old centreman, registered eight points (1G-7A) during his 48 regular-season contests with the Thunderbirds. Over the past two years, the product of Edmonton, Alta. has collected nine points (2G-7A) in 64 regular season and playoff games.
The 6-foot-2, 201-pound forward was selected by Seattle in the eighth round, 172nd overall, in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft. Bryks signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement with the Thunderbirds on August 30, 2017.
In the 2017-18 season, Bryks also spent a portion of his time with the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) and won the league title. In 31 regular-season games, he totaled 19 points (11G-8A) and one assist in seven post-season games.
