Oil Kings nab Stars prospect Fuder in Central Division deal with Rebels
The Edmonton Oil Kings have added explosive forward Jaxon Fuder in a cross-division deal with the Red Deer Rebels.
In exchange, the Rebels will receive winger Poul Andersen, the rights to drafted prospects Boris Sigachev and Brock Stevenson, and a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2027 WHL Prospects Draft.
Fuder, 19, is listed as week-to-week with a lower-body injury, but had been on a career-best scoring pace with seven goals (including a hat trick) and 17 assists for 24 points in 27 games to sit second in scoring on the Rebels.
“The Oil Kings organization is excited to add Jaxon to our group of forwards,” said Oil Kings President and General Manager Kirt Hill. “He is a veteran of the WHL that plays a hard-nosed 200-foot game. His offensive upside and will to compete every night made him an exciting player to add to our club. We would like to welcome Jaxon and his family to the Oil Kings organization.”

The 6’0.5, 171-pound winger from Cold Lake, Alta., signed an entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars as an undrafted free agent on September 23, 2025.
Since joining the Rebels in 2024-25, he’s racked up 50 points (13G-32A) in 73 regular-season games and earned the alternate captaincy.
Heading down the QEII is 18-year-old forward Poul Andersen, who has 11 goals and five assists for 16 points in 28 games for Edmonton.
The 6-foot, 181-pound forward is tied for fourth on the Oil Kings in goals in his rookie campaign.
“We would like to wish Poul all the best in his next chapter in Red Deer,” Hill said. “We appreciate all of his contributions both on and off the ice and we see him having success in hockey and life moving forward.”

Red Deer will also gain the rights to Sigachev, a fourth-round pick (71st overall) in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.
The 6-foot-1, 174-pound forward from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia, leads the AEHL’s Calgary Flames U18AAA side with 15 goals and 24 assists for 39 points in 22 games.
Sigachev, 16, helped the Flames clinch the AEHL Championship in 2024-25.
Rounding out the involved players is 2024 U.S. Priority Draft second-round pick (27th overall) Brock Stevenson from Denver, Col.
The 16-year-old has one goal in two appearances with the USHL’s Sioux City Musketeers, in addition to 52 points (23G-29A) in 35 games.
Edmonton (21-7-3-1) sits second in the Central Division and third in the Eastern Conference, while Red Deer (10-17-1-2) sits fifth in the Central.
