ICE’s Stoll named WHL Player of the Week
Calgary, Alta. – The Bank of Montreal MasterCard – Western Hockey League Player of the Week is forward Jarret Stoll of the Kootenay ICE. Stoll earned player of the week honours by recording 11 points (4G-7A) in three games. Stoll helped lead the ICE to a perfect 3-0 record for the week.
On Friday, March 2, Stoll scored two goals and added two assists in a 10-2 victory over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors.
On Saturday, March 3, Stoll recorded a goal and three assists in a 5-2 win over the visiting Calgary Hitmen. On Sunday, March 4, Stoll recorded a goal and two assists in a 6-2 victory against visiting Seattle Thunderbirds.
Stoll, an 18-year-old, from Saskatoon, Sask., is currently third in league scoring with 98 points (35G-63A) in 56 games played. He also became Kootenay’s all-time assist leader with 125 and has set a team record for most points in a season, currently with 98. He is a draft choice of the Calgary Flames.
