Brandon Wheat Kings forward Luke Mistelbacher has confirmed his commitment to the University of Maine.
The 19-year-old will join the Black Bears for the 2026-27 season upon the conclusion of his WHL eligibility.
Mistelbacher is coming off a sensational season that saw him put up 42 goals (including three hat tricks and a four-goal showing) and 51 assists for 93 points in 67 games with the Swift Current Broncos.
He finished fourth among all WHL skaters in goals, eighth in points and tied for 10th in powerplay goals with 13.
Hailing from Steinbach, Man., Mistelbacher broke into the WHL as an undrafted winger with the Broncos.

He’s tallied 68 goals and 94 assists for 162 points in 190 regular-season games over parts of four seasons.
The 6-foot, 167-pound left winger also played a key role in helping Swift Current return to the WHL Playoffs in 2023 for the first time since winning it all in 2018.
Mistelbacher has picked up another 12 points (5G-7A) in 14 playoff appearances.
Brandon acquired Mistelbacher and fellow NHL Draft-eligible skater Grayson Burzynski in a major trade on May 8, 2025.
He recently signed an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the AHL’s Iowa Wild and scored his first professional goal while suiting up for two games with the Minnesota Wild affiliate.
Mistelbacher is ranked 93rd among all North American skaters entering the 2025 NHL Draft, which runs from June 27-28, 2025.
