WHERE ARE THEY NOW? – Dylan Abood
Defenseman Dylan Abood arrived in Wenatchee for the 2011-12 season, and became one of the team’s Iron Men, playing in all 60 regular season games. He skated in 58 games the following season plus another 14 in a postseason run that saw Wenatchee advance to the Robertson Cup Championship game.
Abood and a handful of others went to south Texas when the original Wild franchise was relocated to Hidalgo, TX and after his junior career ended, he attended the Air Force Academy in his home state of Colorado. He earned the captain’s “C” on his sweater as both a junior and a senior. He completed his schooling with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
He’s now married to his wife Madeline, and lives in Las Vegas, NV where he works for the Air Force in the field of Medical Logistics. He treasures his experience playing hockey for the Wild.
“Wenatchee was the best experience of my hockey career”, he declares. “You won’t find a better combination of location, staff, and community in junior hockey. My billet family is still family. I especially cherish the friendships I made with teammates and members of the community that continue today.” He added, “Every time I visit, it still feels like home.”
