The Penticton Vees announced today the signing of 2010-born Canadian forwards Markus Knaub and Peter Banicevic to Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreements.

 

Banicevic was selected by the Vees in the 3rd Round, 47th overall in the 2025 WHL Draft. The Burnaby, BC native had 13 goals and 28 points in 27 games last season with Delta Hockey Academy’s U18 program.

In four exhibition contests with the Vees, Banicevic had one goal, one assist and a +1 rating. 

 

Banicevic stands at 6-FOOT-1 and 181 lbs. He notched two points in five games at the WHL Cup for Team BC last season. 

 

Knaub is a native of Morden, MB and put up 19 goals and 47 points for Rink Winnipeg’s U17 Prep program last season. He also registered six points in two games with the U18 group last year. 

 

A free agent camp invite this year, Knaub impressed the Vees coaching staff and earned a spot in all four preseason games notching one assist and a +2 rating. 

 

Knaub stands at 6-FOOT-0 and 184 lbs. In four AP games with the Portage Terriers of the MJHL, the 16-year-old notched two assists last season. 

 

“We’re excited to add Peter and Markus to our organization,” said Vees president, general manager and head coach Fred Harbinson. “Both are talented 2010-born forwards who we believe have very bright futures. Peter will continue his development this season with Delta Academy in the CSSHL, while Markus will play with the Portage Terriers in the MJHL.
