The Vees finish off a back-to-back in Prince George tonight looking to pick up their first win of the season after falling 4-1 in last night’s opener. Puck drop is 6:00PM.

The Vees carried a good chunk of the play last night at five-on-five but lost the special teams battle which was the difference in the game. The Vees went 0/5 with the man advantage while the Cougars were able to strike twice on three powerplay attempts. 

Last night’s loss in Prince George was the first ever regular season regulation loss at the CN Centre for the Vees. Penticton went 2-0-1-0 last season as the road team in the season series. The Vees outshot the Cougars 30-25 last night but Alexander Levshyn was outstanding and the Cougars managed to block north of 10 shots and were especially solid at getting in lanes on the penalty kill. 

Vees Player to Watch: Vees 20-year-old forward Tristan Petersen was all over the ice last night and created the play that led to the Vees only goal of the night. Petersen had 18 goals and 18 assists last season for the Vees.

Fast Fact: Vees defencemen Thor Liffiton and Parker Deraney both skated in their first WHL games last night. Both Liffiton and Deraney are playing in their 16-year-old seasons but are still just 15 years old. Deraney turns 16 in October while Liffiton turns 16 in December.
