NHL Draft Intriguing for Tigers
Medicine Hat Tigers sophomore sensation Linden Vey has been selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the 4th round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, 96th overall.
The native of Wakaw, SK. had a breakthrough campaign for the Tigers in 2008-09, his second with team, piling up 72 points in 71 games as a 17-year-old. His point totals placed him second on the team behind 2008 NHL 1st Round pick Tyler Ennis.
In other Tigers draft related news, former bengal defenseman Jay Bouwmeester had his negotiating rights scooped up by the Calgary Flames in exchange for the rights to fellow blueliner Jordan Leopold and a 3rd round draft pick. The Flames will now have until July 1st to sign the ex-Panther before he becomes and unrestricted free agent.
