LANGHAMER SOLID IN 3RD CAREER SHUTOUT
Marek Langhamer quickly credited the help he had in picking up his third career shutout in the WHL.
The Czech netminder made 21 saves as his Medicine Hat Tigers blanked the Kootenay Ice 3-0 on Saturday night at The Arena before a sellout crowd of 4,006 spectators. The shutout was the first for Langhamer this season, and he said his teammates played a huge role in ensuring his workload was a lot lighter than it could have been.
“I appreciated that the guys blocked a lot of shots tonight. I think it was over 20 shots,” said Langhamer, whose Tigers improved to 7-1-1. “It was a hard game, and it feels great.”
Traditionally, the Tigers have had their struggles over the years picking up wins against their rivals from Cranbrook, B.C. The host side worked quickly to avoid the script of previous defeats scoring at the 2:50 mark of the first as Curtis Valk and Hunter Shinkaruk teamed up to set up Miles Koules for his third goal of the season.
