Medicine Hat, AB – The ATB Financial Player of the Week for the week ending Oct 13, 2013 is goaltender Marek Langhamer.

This is Langhamer’s first ATB Financial Player of the Week honour of the 2013-2014 season. Over the past week, Langhamer won both of his starts and picked up his first shutout of the season. Over the three games the Tigers went 3-0-0-0.

Langhamer got his fourth start of the season against the Calgary Hitmen on Tuesday night in Medicine Hat. He led the Tigers to a 6-4 making 26 saves. All four goals that Langhamer allowed came while the Hitmen were on the power play.

In his second start of the week Langhamer had his best game of the season. He picked up his first shutout of the year against the Kootenay Ice on Saturday night at the Arena. He stopped all 21 shots he faced on route to a 3-0 Tigers victory.

At the end of the week, Langhamer had a record of 4-1-0-0 and led the team in wins (4) and GAA (2.21).
