KOULES NAMED ATB FINANCIAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Medicine Hat, AB – The ATB Financial Player of the Week for the week ending Nov 17, 2013 is forward Miles Koules.
This is Koules’ first ATB Financial Player of the Week honour of the 2013-2014 season. Over the past week, Koules scored five goals and had a +3 plus/minus rating during the four game BC road trip. During the week the Tigers went 2-2-0-0.
Koules started the week off with a big game against the Prince George Cougars. He scored a pair of goals including the eventual game winner in the first period. His second goal came while down a man in the final moments of the game to ice the 6-1 win.
Koules continued his hot hand as the Tigers faced off against the Blazers the following night. Koules would once again put home the eventual game winner. Koules put home a loose puck in front of the net to make it a 2-0 game before the end of the second as the Tigers went on to win 3-1.
The Tigers four game win streak came to an end on Friday night in Vancouver. Falling behind 3-0 in the first period the Tigers crawled back to make it 3-2 but that was as close as they would come. Koules scored his fourth of the week and eighth of the season with just over five minutes remaining in the third to give the Tigers a shot at the comeback.
The Tigers finished off the week against the red hot Kelowna Rockets. Koules continued his strong play despite the 4-3 loss. He scored for the fourth straight night when he collected his second short handed goal of the week to make it a 4-2 in the third period.
At the end of the week, Koules sat tied for second on the team in goals (9) and is sixth for points (16).
