GAME 69: TIGERS @ PRINCE ALBERT RAIDERS
VS PRINCE ALBERT: This is the fourth and final meeting this season between the Tigers and Raiders. Medicine Hat has posted a 1-2-0-0 record versus the Raiders (0-2-0-0 at home and 1-0-0-0 in Prince Albert). Forwards Elgin Pearce (3G, 1A) and Hunter Shinkaruk (2G, 2A) lead the Tigers with four points each in the previous games. Cam Lanigan (1-1-0-0) and Marek Langhamer (0-1-0-0) have each started in net against the Raiders. Lanigan allowed nine goals against (3.42 GAA) on 70 shots (.871 Save %) in his two starts and one relief apperance. Langhamer allowed three goals against (8.42 GAA) on 10 shots (.700 Save %) in his lone start. On the power play the Tigers went 3 for 16 (18.8%), while killing off 7 of 9 Raiders’ opportunities (77.8%).

MILESTONES: Hunter Shinakruk recorded his 200th career point earlier in February and is now quickly approaching another major milestone, 100 career goals. In 189 career games, Shinkaruk has scored 96 goals and assisted on 114 others for 210 points. Curtis Valk recently hit a career milestone recording his 150th career point. In 194 WHL games, Valk has scored 75 goals and added 82 assists for 157 points. The home town star has been lighting up the league this year with a team high 85 points (43G, 42A) in 67 games.
STREAKS: Marek Langhamer has been great in net over his last few starts for the Tigers. He’s won his last four consecutive starts allowing only six goals against on 148 shots. Boston Leier, Dylan Bredo, Jacob Doty and Trevor Cox are the Tigers’ iron men this season. The four players are the only Tigers that have played in all 68 games this season. Bredo hasn’t been scratched or missed a regular season game due to injury since his rookie season in 2009-2010. Hunter Shinkaruk and Zach Hodder have both been on a roll lately recording points in three straight games. Over the streak each player has recorded a goal and three assists.
ATB PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Zach Hodder was named the ATB Tiger of the Week for the week ending March 3rd. It is his first player of the week honour of the season. Hodder scored once, added two assists and had a -1 rating in three games. Over the week the Tigers went 1-2-0-0.
