GAME 45: TIGERS VS EDMONTON OIL KINGS
VS EDMONTON: This is the fourth of six meetings this season between the Tigers and Oil Kings. This season Medicine Hat has posted a 0-2-1-0 record versus the Oil Kings (0-1-0-0 at home and 01-1-0 in Edmonton). Curtis Valk (1G, 2A) leads the Tigers with three points in the previous games. Cam Lanigan (0-1-1-0) and Marek Langhamer (0-1-0-0) have split the games in net for the Tigers. Langhamer got the start in the first game and allowed four goals (4.17 GAA) on 21 shots (.810 Save %). Lanigan started the last two games and has allowed five goals (2.40 GAA) on 81 shots (.938 Save %). On the power play the Tigers went 3 for 19 (15.8%), while killing off 11 of 13 Oil Kings’ opportunities (84.6%).

MILESTONES: Hunter Shinkaruk recorded his 100th assist against the Vancouver Giants on Jan 8th. In 169 career games, Shinarkuk has scored 88 goals and assisted on 100 others for 188 points. Elgin Pearce and Dylan Bredo both also recently hit career milestones. Pearce scored his 50th career goal in his 220th WHL game. Bredo picked up his 50th career assist in his 233rd game with the Tigers. Boston Leier and Logan McVeigh are both approaching the 50 career assist mark. Leier has 49 assists in 166 games and McVeigh is one behind him with 48 in 170 games.
STREAKS: Elgin Pearce and Jacob Doty have been dominant up front as of lately. Pearce has scored eight times and added 11 assists while recording a point in each of the last 10 games. Doty has shown that he’s much more than an enforcer picking up points in his last seven games (5G, 2A). Dylan Bredo is adjusting to life on the blue line and it hasn’t kept him off the scoresheet. Bredo is riding a four game point streak where he’s scored once and added five assists.
