CURTIS VALK NAMED ATB FINANCIAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Medicine Hat, AB – The ATB Financial Tiger of the Week for the week ending February 3, 2013 is forward Curtis Valk.
This is Valk’s fourth ATB Financial Tiger of the Week honour of the 2012-2013 season. Over the past week, Valk collected three goals and had a -5 rating in three games. The Tigers went 0-3-0-0 over the week.
Valk was held off the scoresheet in the 3-2 loss to Calgary and the 6-0 loss to Edmonton but had a big game against Moose Jaw. Valk scored 3 of the 4 Tiger goals in the 8-4 loss and was named the game’s 3rd star. It was his second hat trick of the season and put him over the 30 goal mark for the first time in his WHL career.
At the end of the week, Valk led the Tigers’ scoring with 67 points (32G, 35 A) which also placed him 10th in league scoring.
