Medicine Hat, AB – The ATB Financial Player of the Week for the week ending December 28th, is winger Trevor Cox.

The Tigers played 3 games over that span which saw 2 home games and 1 on the road. The first game was before the Christmas Break against Kamloops which saw Cox and the Tigers rolling 7-3 over the visiting Blazers. A 10 day layoff from hockey, the Tigers had an annual home and home series against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The Hurricanes won the first game in a back and forth affair but then was followed up by a 6 point performance by Cox in an 8-4 Tigers victory.

This is Cox’s second ATB Financial Player of the Week honour of the 2014-2015 season. Cox also picked up the WHL and CHL Player of the Week honors, recording 13 points in the 3 games.

Cox has been on fire as of late, recording 20 points in his past 5 games and now currently leads all WHL skaters in scoring, having an 8 point lead on the next skater in Kelowna’s Nick Merkley. Cox also has taken over the assist lead from Merkley.
