Medicine Hat, AB – The ATB Financial Player of the Week for the week ending December 7th, is center Chad Labelle.

The Tigers headed West to make their trip to the US Division and take on Everett, Seattle and Portland. One of the tougher trips as it sees the boys play 3 games in 3 nights, a feat not known too often to Tiger fans. The week started in Everett with the boys playing well to take home a 5-2 victory, then the Tigers made their way to Kent, Washington to play Seattle. Seattle put up a good fight but the Tigers came out victorious with a 5-3 victory. Sunday had the Tigers pitted against the reigning Western Conference Champs, Portland Winterhawks. It was the third game in 3 nights and the visitors came up short 4-1.

This is Labelle’s first ATB Financial Player of the Week honour of the 2014-2015 season. Last year, Chad was awarded just one player of the week honor last season during the week of Dec. 18 – 29, 2013.

Over the past week, Chad collected 2 points in the 3 games played but is an essential part of the Tigers penalty kill and is one of the best in the faceoff circle. Chad started his week with a goal in Everett, his 2nd of the season, which ended up being the game winner in the 5-2 victory. Saturday Chad followed his performance with an assist on a David Quenneville insurance marker. Labelle won an offensive face off, which led to the goal.
