Brown Moved to Everett
Medicine Hat, AB – Medicine Hat Tigers announce this afternoon a one for one player transaction with the Everett Silvertips.
The Tigers are sending 19-year-old defenceman Shayne Brown to the Silvertips in exchange for 19-year-old defenceman Tyler Kieffer.
This is Kieffer's second season in the WHL, serving in 27 games with the Silvertips last season, picking up 3 assists and 27 penalty minutes. Kieffer brings the number of Minnesota based players on the Tiger's roster to four this season, being from Stillwater, MN.
"We are excited to bring in a player like Tyler Kieffer to our team," said Tigers' gm/head coach Willie Desjardins. "He has good offensive skill, is a good skater, moves the puck well and has a physical presence on the ice."
"To get a quality player like Kieffer, you have to give up something as well. Shayne Brown has been excellent for our program. He started as a 16-year-old and has battled every year for us. He is truly a great ambassador for our game," stated Desjardins.
"We thank Shayne Brown and his family for the time he's put in Medicine Hat. We certainly wish Shayne the best in his future endeavours," concluded Desjardins.
