BECKER GRABS ATB FINANCIAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Medicine Hat, AB – The ATB Financial Player of the Week for the week ending October 12th, is defenceman Kyle Becker. 

The Tigers started off the week with a trip to Red Deer to face the Rebels on Friday. The Tigers would dominate the first period and take control in the third as they won 5-1. Becker posted 3 points in the victory. 

This is Becker’s first ATB Financial Player of the Week honour of the 2014-2015 season. Last year, Becker collected just 1 honour during the week of Nov.25 to Dec.1, 2013. Over the past week, Becker has tallied 3 goals and 1 assists in 2 games. 

The week started in Red Deer against the Rebels. The Tigers dominated much of the first and third periods. Becker would give the Tigers a 2-0 lead as he scored the first 2 goals for the orange and black. Becker would later assist on another goal, giving him 3 points on the night and the Tigers a 5-1 victory.

The second game of the week was a home date against the visiting Victoria Royals. The Royals and Tigers only play twice this season, and the Tigers came out to a quick start. Becker would play solid minutes during the game, but contributed once again with another goal, his 4th of the season in the 8-2 victory Saturday night. 

Becker currently leads the Tigers defence in scoring with 8 points in 7 games. The offensive minded Becker is looking to improve on the 26 points he put up last season.
