LINDSTROM MAKES IT RAIN IN TIGERS TEDDY BEAR TOSS WIN OVER PRINCE ALBERT
Medicine Hat, AB – Cayden Lindstrom (Chetwynd, BC) would be the Teddy Bear Toss goal scorer on route to a Medicine Hat Tigers victory over the Prince Albert Raiders Saturday night?
Lindstrom would allow the snowstorm of Teddy Bears hit the Co-op Place ice at 1:14 with his 21st of the season from Hunter St.Martin (Edmonton, AB). The Tigers would stay with it against the Raiders as Hayden Harsanyi (Calgary, AB) would follow-up a Dru Krebs (Okotoks, AB) shot beating Prince Albert goaltender Chase Coward to make it 2-0 Medicine Hat. Tigers Player of the Month Oasiz Wiesblatt (Calgary, AB) would notch a secondary assist. Gavin McKenna (Whitehorse, YT) would complete the scoring in the opening period on the power play with his 9th of the season from Wiesblatt & Tomas Mrsic (Surrey, BC) at 12:03.
The Tigers would continue to bring the offence in the 2nd as Lindstrom would one-time home his 22nd of the campaign and second of the game at 3:15 to make it 4-0 Medicine Hat. Andrew Basha (Calgary,AB) & St.Martin would draw assists. Prince Albert would finally solve Tigers starter Zach Zahara (Rockyview, AB) as Justice Christensen would find a seam from the point making it a 4-1 deficit for the Raider.
Medicine Hat would respond as Gavin McKenna would blast his 10th and second of the game at 10:07 on the power play to make it 5-1 from Wiesblatt & Mrsic for multi-point nights. PA would continue to push back as Luke Moroz would net his first career WHL goal at 11:16 to make it 5-2. But another goal late in the 2nd from the home side as Rhett Parsons (Cremona, AB) would send a shot through and Vasyl Spilka (Liberec, CZE) would bang home his 1st Western Hockey League goal of his career to push the lead to 6-2 at 17:18.
With a scoreless third period the Medicine Hat Tigers would pick up their 17th win of the season.
Another strong outing for special teams as the Tigers would go 2/6 on the power play while a 3/3 penalty kill has the Tigers with six straight games of not allowing a power play goal.
