Tigers acquire defenceman Bryce Pickford in multiple picks deal with Thunderbirds
Medicine Hat, AB – Another trade has transpired during the WHL Prospects Draft Thursday as the Medicine Hat Tigers have swung a deal with the Seattle Thunderbirds acquiring 2006 born defenceman Bryce Pickford (Edmonton, AB) in exchange for a 3rd round pick in this year’s 2024 WHL Prospects Draft (64th overall Everett), A 2nd round pick in the 2025 draft pick (MH), third round pick in the 2025 draft (SEA) & a conditional 5th round pick in the 2027 draft.

The 18 year old defenceman has played in 121 games in the WHL, amassing eight goals & 27 assists in that time frame.
Tigers Head Coach & General Manager Willie Desjardins says they’ve acquired a defenceman with championship experience that will be beneficial for the Tigers going forward.
“Bryce set us up for success for the next two years,” he says. “We needed to add depth to our backend with moves made today and going forward, he brings plenty of experience from past playoff runs that lead to championships, Bryce is a strong defender that will help us get that competitive edge we need going forward.”
Pickford is eligible for the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas in late June.
