REBUILDING: Last season was the lowest point total for the Kootenay Ice since they operated in Cranbrook, only collecting 31 points on the season. They also scored a franchise low 155 goals on the year. This season they have already eclipsed last year’s point total after 10 games.
MILESTONES: Both Zach Fischer and Mason Shaw played in their 100th career WHL game last Saturday, making them the 250th and 251st players in franchise history to do so.
WHO TO WATCH: Tigers – Ryan Jevne: Jevne has had the opportunity to move into a larger role with leading scorer Chad Butcher suspension. Jevne should see time on the PP and on the second line with Matt Bradley and John Dahlstrom. Jevne has 4 points in 10 games this season. Ice – Zak Zborosky: The Ice leading scorer from last season is back at it again with 10 points in 10 games this year. Zborosky also had 6 points in 5 games against the Tigers last season including 4 goals
FINAL 2: Tonight marks the first of two home games this week which will also be the Tigers final two home games before heading on the road for 10 days to Red Deer and Edmonton before heading to Prince George, Kamloops and Kelowna. It will be the longest break between home games in the past 3 years (20 days).
