CHORNEY JOINS TIGERS
Medicine Hat, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers announced today they have signed overage free agent forward Carter Chorney. The 6-foot-tall Chorney has spent the last 4 seasons in the Western Hockey League and was most recently playing for the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the AJHL.
Tigers general manager and head coach Willie Desjardins says, “Carter has four years in the league and will help bring some experience to our forward group. Carter is a hard worker and we’re excited to bring him in and work with him.”
In 181 career WHL games, Chorney has 27 points and 30 assists to go along with 99 penalty minutes. Last season the Sherwood Park native had 4 goals and 8 assists playing in the Eastern Division bubble in Regina.
Chorney is expected to join the team in Calgary tonight, when the Tigers return to action to take on the Calgary Hitmen. Puck Drop is set for 7pm and you can catch all the action with Scott Roblin on CHAT 94.5FM.
