TIGERS SIGN PARANYCH
Medicine Hat, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers announced today that they have signed defenceman Matt Paranych to a Standard WHL Player Agreement.
Paranych, a product of Edmonton, AB was selected by the Tigers in the 3rd round, 45th overall in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. Paranych played with the OHA Edmonton U15 Prep team during the 2021-22 season where he had 52 points in 30 games, including 13 goals and 39 assists. Paranych also played 9 games with the OHA Edmonton U16 Prep team registering 2 goals and 9 assists.
Tigers Head Coach and General Manager Willie Desjardins says “We are excited to have a payer of Matthew’s caliber join our team. Not only for his playmaking ability but for his character.”
Director of Player Personnel Bobby Fox went on to say “Matthew is a smart deceptive mobile Defencemen that drives possession. He sees the ice really well, he’s elusive and poised with the puck, and has an accurate shot.”
