EVERETT – Friday’s Everett Silvetips home game against the rival Seattle Thunderbirds at Comcast Arena is one of two Silvertips games that will be shown live regionally on ROOT SPORTS™ television as part of this year’s ‘Friday Night Ice’ broadcast schedule.  The WHL and ROOT SPORTS are in their fourth season of a multi-year broadcast agreement in which ROOT SPORTS serves as the WHL’s exclusive U.S. Northwest cable home, bringing LIVE WHL action into 3.2 million homes across five U.S. states during the 2012-13 WHL Regular Season. 

As the Silvertips and Thunderbirds clash for the seventh time this season before a raucous Silvertips crowd at Comcast Arena, two important points in the Western Conference playoff race will be on the line between the longtime rivals.  Everett won back-to-back games against Seattle in late December to start the second half of the season after the T-Birds started the year with four straight wins in the head-to-head series.  The ‘Tips currently lead the Thunderbirds by one point for fourth place in the U.S. Division and seventh in the Western Conference.

One of the premier development leagues in the World, the Western Hockey League showcases top-rated NHL prospects LIVE every Friday night on ROOT SPORTS.  The broadcast schedule features all five WHL U.S. based Clubs: Everett Silvertips, Portland Winterhawks, Seattle Thunderbirds, Spokane Chiefs and Tri-City Americans.  Everett’s other televised game this season comes on March 8 as the Silvertips visit the Spokane Chiefs.
