GAME RECAP: Silvertips earn 4-3 victory over first-place Cougars
PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — The Everett Silvertips pulled out a 4-3 victory over the first-place Prince George Cougars at the CN Centre on Tuesday night. The win is Everett’s third over a CHL Top-10 ranked team in the last week, with Prince George entering the contest as the #1 seed.
Jesse Heslop opened the scoring for Everett, capping off a cross-slot feed from Teague Patton for his eighth of the year. The assist was Patton’s 100th career WHL point. Zac Funk answered with a powerplay goal for Prince George at 14:29. Austin Roest buried a powerplay goal of his own at 19:09, rifling a one-timer home for a 2-1 Silvertips lead after one.
Roest potted his second of the night 2:24 into the second for his 19th of the season, chasing Ty Young from the Prince George net. Funk answered with his second of the night with another powerplay goal at 15:57 to once more bring the Cougars within one heading into the second intermission.

Julius Miettinen scored what would prove to be the game-winner at 2:07 in the third period, wiring a wrist shot past Joshua Ravensbergen for his seventh of the campaign.
Though Bauer Dumanski converted on a breakaway opportunity at 7:35, the Silvertips held firm for a 4-3 victory. Ethan Chadwick stopped 36 of 39 for his eighth win of the season.
