Victoria shuts out Vancouver 3-0 for fourth consecutive win.

Victoria, BC- Victoria Royals’ Coleman Vollrath turned aside 28 shots for his second consecutive shutout as the homeside defeated the Vancouver Giants 3-0 on Saturday night.
Victoria’s Jack Walker notched the game-winning goal in the first period. Austin Carroll and Brandon Magee registered the other markers for the Royals.
Tonight’s contest saw Victoria set several team records. Magee’s goal was his 112th of his career and his 100th in a Victoria uniform. This makes him the first player in Royals’ history to accomplish the feat. Vollrath set the franchise’s all-time record for shutouts in a season with six. Carroll’s 37th goal of the year tied the Royals’ record for most markers in a season. Victoria also extended their all-time franchise record for team shutouts in a season to eight.
Vancouver started netminder Cody Porter who stopped 27 of the 30 shots he faced.
Neither team was able to capitalize on the powerplay. The Royals when 0/1=0.0% while the Giants went 0/2=0.0%.
The Royals are back in action tomorrow afternoon for a matinee contest against the Giants. Tomorrow`s game is Minor Hockey Appreciation Day and is scheduled for a 1:05 p.m. start. Victoria’s final home game takes place next Friday night against the Everett Silvertips for Fan Appreciation Night. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
