ROYALS’ HOST 2014 SAVE-ON-FOODS HOME OPENER THIS FRIDAY
Victoria hosts Save-On-Foods Home Opener, featuring giveaways, entertainment and prizes.

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals are excited to announce event details for the club’s first two home games of the season vs. the Kamloops Blazers this weekend, including the 2014 Save-On-Foods Home Opener this Friday, September 26th at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The first 1,000 fans at Friday’s game will receive gift cards courtesy of Save-On-Foods upon entrance.
Capital Iron, in partnership with Save-On-Foods, will host a tailgate barbecue, where complimentary samples will be served for fans outside Gate 1, starting at 6:00 p.m. as part of the pre-game festivities.
Tickets to Friday’s and Saturday’s contests are still available, but moving quickly. Any fan that presents a Save-On-More Rewardscard at the box office prior to the end of the day on Thursday, September 25th will receive $2.00 off any seat for Friday’s contest. In a special pre-game ceremony during the home opener, the Royals will be paying tribute to two local families who have been helped by the BC Children’s Hospital.
During the first intermission, Timbits Minor Hockey presented by 100.3 The Q! will be featured. Both a men’s Carhartt Shoreline Jacket and a Napolean Pro285 Portable Gas Grill from Carhartt and Capital Iron will be awarded to the winners of Friday night’s Chuck-a-Puck. The game will also see fans compete in the Save-On-Foods Shopping Cart Race where one fan will win a prize package from Save-On-Foods including a $25 gift card. Proceeds from 50/50 and Chuck-A-Puck will support the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
For Saturday’s game, one lucky fan in attendance will have the opportunity to win a trip to Las Vegas courtesy of 100.3 The Q! Royals magnet schedules will also be given away on entrance on behalf of Alex Burns & Associates, RE/MAX Alliance Realty and VictoriaRealEstate.com.
The first intermission presented by 100.3 The Q! will see young hockey players participate in Tim Bits Minor Hockey. During the second intermission one fan will walk away with a trip to Las Vegas as part of 100.3 The Q! Vegas Crapshoot contest. Proceeds from Chuck-A-Puck will be going to Vancouver Island Wave Soccer Team, while the 50/50 draw will go towards View Royal Elementary.
Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for both games and fans are encouraged to arrive early for this busy weekend.
