Rebels veterans set to attend NHL camps
RED DEER – Five players on the current Red Deer Rebels roster are headed to camps with NHL clubs.
Kalan Lind (’05) – F – Nashville Predators
Mats Lindgren (’04) – D – Buffalo Sabres
Carson Latimer (’03) – F – Minnesota Wild
Hunter Mayo (’04) – D – Los Angeles Kings
Matteo Fabrizi (’05) – D – Vegas Golden Knights
Lind was selected by the Predators in round two of this year’s NHL Draft, while Lindgren was selected by the Sabres in round four of the 2022 NHL Draft.
Latimer, Mayo and Fabrizi are each attending camps as free agent invites.
Also attending camp this fall with the Edmonton Oilers is Jayden Grubbe (’03), who is not on the current Rebels roster but is eligible to return for the 2023-24 WHL Regular Season.
Each of the three graduating Rebels players from the 2022-23 season are also off to NHL camps.

Jace Isley (’02) – F – New Jersey Devils
Christoffer Sedoff (’02) – D – Vegas Golden Knights
The Rebels continue 2023-24 WHL Pre-season play tomorrow (Sunday, Sept. 10, 2 p.m.) at the Peavey Mart Centrium versus the Edmonton Oil Kings. Tickets are available at the Tickets Alberta Box Office ($10 adults, $5 youth). Season ticket members can show their cards at the door. Seating for pre-season games is general admission.
