Top prospect Daxon Rudolph nominated for CSSHL U18 Prep Division Top Freshman Award
Daxon Rudolph has a chance to take home the CSSHL’s Top Freshman Award in the U18 Prep Division. The first overall pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft enjoyed an incredible rookie season with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) U18 Prep club this season.
The CSSHL nominees for the U18 Prep Division Top Freshman Award are:

The Raider prospect played 28 regular season games, where he scored 22 goals and added 37 assists for 59 points, finishing eighth overall in league scoring. Rudolph was second in team scoring only behind fellow Raider prospect and second overall pick Riley Boychuk, who scored 62 points.
Rudolph, a 16-year-old defenceman out of Lacombe, AB, joins third overall pick Mathis Preston, as well as sixth overall pick Ryan Lin as a nominee for the Top Freshman award.
NAX, led by Rudolph, went all the way to the CSSHL’s Western Championship final, where they fell 3-2 in overtime to Edge School. He finished the playoffs with eight points (4G-4A) in five games, with two of those goals coming on the powerplay.
