Raiders Prospects Make U16 Shortlists

Prince Albert, SK – Three Prince Albert Raiders prospects have made provincial shortlists for this October’s Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup.
Defenceman Kaiden Guhle and forward Ozzy Wiesblatt made Team Alberta’s shortlist, which was announced on Thursday. Guhle (2017 WHL Bantam Draft, Round 1, Pick 1) and Wiesblatt (Round 2, Pick 25) competed at the U16 Provincial Camp in Camrose, AB from July 4 to 9.
Also, defenceman Braydon Clark (Round 3, Pick 47) was named to Team British Columbia’s shortlist following the provincial camp earlier this month.
All three players will be evaluated during the early portions of the 2017-18 season with their respective clubs.
Starting on Monday, four Raiders prospects will be taking part in the SaskFirst U16 camp. Cohner Saleski (Round 1, Pick 17), Davin Griffin (Round 5, Pick 100), Graham Skinner (Round 5, Pick 105) and Dylan Scriven (Round 7, Pick 150) open the camp on July 31 in Wilcox.
In August, forwards Jakob Brook (Round 2, Pick 40) and Evan Herman (Round 3, Pick 64) have been invited to Hockey Manitoba’s Program of Excellence Summer Development Camp, which opens on August 16.
Final rosters for the provincial teams for the 2017 Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup will be announced closer to the tournament. This year’s Challenge Cup runs from October 15 to 22 in Calgary, AB.
