Game Preview: Raiders vs Blades
SETTING IT UP:
Prince Albert (17-11-3-0) return home to face the Saskatoon Blades (19-10-2-2) for the first of eight meetings this season. The Raiders are coming off of a perfect weekend where they picked up two wins in two nights against the Swift Current Broncos, by 2-1 and 7-5 finals.
A RIVALRY RENEWED:
Tonight marks the first night (excluding preseason) that the Raiders and Blades have faced each other since game five of the first round of the playoffs last season. Both clubs are on two game winning streaks. Prince Albert enters tonight in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, but sit only five points back of Saskatoon for first place, and the Raiders also have two games in hand. A win tonight and a win on Wednesday in Saskatoon will put the green and gold just one point back of their biggest rival for the division lead.
PILING UP THE POINTS:
Four Raiders had three or more points in Saturday’s win over the Broncos. Lukas Dragicevic had a four point night with a goal and three assists, while Tomas Mrsic also had a four point night with two goals and two assists. Aiden Oiring and Brayden Dube each had three point nights, as they both registered a goal and two assists. Oiring continues to lead the team in scoring, as he now has 44 points on the year.
APPROACHING MILESTONES:
Aiden Oiring: Four goals away from 50.
Vojtech Vochvest: Four games away from 100.
Lukas Dragicevic: Four points away from 200.
