Game Preview: Game 62 vs Medicine Hat
SETTING IT UP:
A potential first round playoff preview goes down tonight, as the Prince Albert Raiders host the Medicine Hat Tigers tonight at the Art Hauser Centre. The Raiders collected one point last night in a 3-2 overtime defeat to the Edmonton Oil Kings on home ice. Medicine Hat fell 3-1 in Saskatoon last night, making it their second straight loss, and their third loss over their last four games. The Tigers have already clinched a playoff spot entering tonight’s action, while the Raiders are in a three team race with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Calgary Hitmen for the final two playoff spots with seven games remaining in Prince Albert’s schedule.
STANICK HITS 200 POINTS:
Sloan Stanick scored Prince Albert’s first goal on Friday night, marking his 200th career WHL point. It was the overage winger’s team leading 29th goal of the season, as he continues to lead the team in that department, as well as points, now with 77 on the season. The next closest player in points is Niall Crocker, who enters tonight’s game with 54.
UPCOMING MILESTONES:
Just one milestone is approaching entering tonight, as Eric Johnston is one point away from 50 in his WHL career. In 185 regular season games, the Raider captain has scored 10 goals and collected 39 assists. He has been sitting on 49 career points since February 10th when he notched an assist against the Brandon Wheat Kings.
