Raiders Weekly – January 6
Prince Albert, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders return to the Art Hauser Centre for three games this week after a four-game road trip to kick off 2020.
Over the four-game trip, the Raiders finished with a 1-2-1-0 record. They lost in 2-1 in overtime to the Pats in Regina on Wednesday. On Friday, the Raiders opened a three-in-three weekend with a 1-0 loss to the Wheat Kings in Brandon.
The Raiders then ventured to Winnipeg for the first of two consecutive games against the ICE. On Saturday, they fell 6-3 to the ICE at Wayne Fleming Arena. The Raiders followed up the performance with a 5-3 win over the ICE in Sunday’s rematch in Winnipeg.

This week, the Raiders open their homestand on Tuesday night against the Red Deer Rebels (13-20-1-3). The teams split the first two meetings of the season with each road team picking up the win. The Rebels knocked off the Raiders 3-2 at the Art Hauser Centre on No. 9. Less than two weeks later, the Raiders got their revenge when they routed the Rebels 7-1 in Red Deer on Nov. 20.
On Friday, the Prince George Cougars (10-22-2-3) make their only trip of the season the Art Hauser Centre. Last year, the Raiders knocked off the Cougars 6-2 in Prince George.
Saturday night sees the Edmonton Oil Kings (27-7-5-2) come to town for the first time this season. The Raiders beat the Oil Kings 6-3 in Edmonton on Nov. 5.
Saturday is also the Raiders’ third annual Sock Hop Presented By Parkland Ambulance. Fans are asked to bring new socks to Saturday’s game. When they get to the rink, they can pick up a draw ticket for each pair of socks they bring. During the second intermission, fans will try to throw their socks into the Parkland Ambulance vehicle on the ice. A pair of socks will be picked from inside the vehicle to win a new TV.
