Raiders, CMHA Prince Albert Teaming Up For Third Annual Night
Prince Albert, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Prince Albert Branch are teaming up to promote the Talk Today program on Friday’s game against the Kootenay ICE.
The Talk Today program is an awareness campaign regarding the importance of mental health that is part of the continuing commitment by the Raiders, CMHA, and WHL.
Friday’s game will feature:
- A CMHA-run kiosk so fans can learn more about mental health and the Talk Today program
- Videos featuring Raider players talking about the importance of mental health
- Public address announcements about mental health
Talk Today provides support to players across the WHL and the rest of the Canadian Hockey League. It raises awareness regarding mental health and suicide prevention, which is a key piece of the program.
Every team in the WHL has received mental health training specific to suicide prevention. Teams are also linked to a CMHA Mental Health Coach, who provides support and mental health resources to individuals in need.
“Mental health affects everybody! CMHA Prince Albert Branch is proud to partner again with the Raiders. They continue to show the leadership needed to reduce the stigma of mental health in our community,” said Doug Kinar, Executive Director of the CMHA Prince Albert Branch.
Tickets for Friday’s game against the Kootenay ICE are available at raiderhockey.com and the Raider Office. Puck drop is 7 p.m.
