Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes return home tonight to the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm for Game 5 of their best-of-seven second round series with the Brandon Wheat Kings as they look to close out the series and advance to the Eastern Conference Championship.
The Hurricanes hold a 3-1 series lead after earning a road split in Brandon this week. The ‘Canes, after falling 5-4 in Game 3, bounced back with a 7-4 victory in Game 4. Brad Morrison and Jake Elmer each scored twice while Dylan Cozens, Zane Franklin, and Logan Barlage scored in the victory for the Hurricanes.
The Wheat Kings will face elimination for the first time in this post-season tonight as they attempt to force a Game 6 back in Brandon on Sunday afternoon. In the 7-4 loss on Wednesday, the Wheaties had four different goal scorers light the lamp as Marcus Sekundiak, Luka Burzan, Stelio Mattheos, and Ty Lewis all scored in the losing cause.
PLAYOFF SERIES: Tonight will be Game 4 of the best-of-seven second round series between the Hurricanes and the Wheat Kings. The Hurricanes lead the series 3-1. It will be the first time the two have faced off in the post-season since 2008 when the ‘Canes eliminated the Wheaties in six games.
