Team Canada 2020 World Junior Championship Schedule
The stage is set – Team Canada plays in Group B at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship taking place in the Czech Republic. Canada will play all its preliminary games in Ostrava at Ostravar Arena, while teams in Group A will play their preliminary games in Trinec at Werk Arena.
Featuring six WHL players, and two from the Hurricanes (Addison and Cozens), Team Canada has a tough road to the playoff rounds. Also in Group B are the bronze medalists from 2019 – Russia, the silver medalists from 2019 – the United States, the host – Czech Republic, and Germany (who went undefeated in the 2019’s Division I-A U20 championship).
Kicking off on Boxing Day, Canada will face the USA with the puck set to drop at 11:00AM MT. The two teams did not place each other in the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship. The rest of Canada’s preliminary games are (all times listed in mountain time):

The Lethbridge Hurricanes will be represented by two players on Team Canada: forward, drafted 7th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Dylan Cozens and defenseman, drafted 53rd overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Calen Addison. At the time of leaving the ‘Canes to join Team Canada, Cozens led the ‘Canes in points with 46 (20G, 26A) in 30 games. Addison was fourth with 29 points (7G, 22A) in 31 games. The last Lethbridge Hurricanes player to play as a member of Team Canada at the World Juniors was Zach Boychuk in 2009.
