Hurricanes Trade Stanley to Cougars
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Thursday they have acquired a sixth-round draft pick in the 2024 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft from the Prince George Cougars in exchange for 2004-born defenceman Ross Stanley.
Stanley, 18, was originally acquired by the Hurricanes from the Prince Albert Raiders in December of 2021 along with forward Tyson Laventure. The Edson, AB, product appeared in 25 games over parts of two seasons with the Hurricanes totaling four assists along with 16 penalty minutes and a plus-five rating. The 6’0, 184-pound rearguard has collected four helpers with four penalty minutes in 17 games this season with the Hurricanes. Stanley has appeared in 62 career WHL games with the Hurricanes, Raiders and Edmonton Oil Kings.
The Hurricanes now have a total of 22 players on their roster including 12 forwards, seven defenceman and three goaltenders.
The Hurricanes return to action on Friday when they welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers to the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm in the Canadian Tire Toque & Teddy Toss.
