Hurricanes Ready for Home Opener; Special Vandervlis Warm-Up Jerseys
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Tuesday that the team will wear special Ryan Vandervlis jerseys for warm-up on Friday, September 21st when they welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Dairy Queen Home Opener at the ENMAX Centre.
The jerseys will be worn just for warm-up which will begin at 6:25pm on Friday. The team will not wear the jerseys for the game. Following warm-ups, the jerseys will be available for auction online during and after the game until September 29th at 4:00pm. More information on how and where to bid on the jerseys will be available on Friday. All proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to the Vandervlis family while 50 percent of the fund will be donated to KidSport Lethbridge and Taber, as requested by the Vandervlis family. In addition to the special Vandervlis jerseys, Ryan himself is expected to attend the game and partake in a special pre-game ceremony.
The team will hold their special pre-game ceremony as they will introduce the 2018-2019 Hurricanes roster. This introduction will begin shortly before 7:00pm.
Prior to the doors opening at 6:00pm, there will be a tailgate party that will begin at 5:00pm and run until 7:00pm on the ENMAX Centre Plaza. Browns Socialhouse will be on hand with a BBQ serving burgers, chips and pop for donation with all proceeds going to the United Way of Lethbridge. 106.7 ROCK will also be broadcasting live on location.
Tickets for Friday’s Dairy Queen Home Opener can be purchased online, by calling 403-329-SEAT (7328) or by visiting the ENMAX Centre and Yates Ticket Centre. Tickets are also available at any Dairy Queen locations in Lethbridge with a purchase of any two burger, fries and soft drink meals, excluding the $7.00 meal deals, while quantities last.
