GAME DAY: Yager, Unger to Make Hurricanes Debut Against Warriors
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes return to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena tonight at 7:00pm as they welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors on 106.7 ROCK & KiSS 107.7 Toy Mountain Night.
The Hurricanes (12-10-1-1) enter on a season-long six-game losing streak after suffering a 3-2 loss in Prince Albert on Saturday to end the month of November with a 4-7-0-1 record. Brayden Edwards and Hayden Pakkala scored in the loss while Koen Cleaver made 23-saves. Lethbridge enters tonight with an 8-2-1-0 record at home this season and are 7-3-0-0 against East Division opponents.
The Warriors (6-15-3-1) enter with a 3-5-1-1 record in their last ten games after suffering a 9-0 shutout loss on Sunday afternoon in Calgary to the Hitmen. The nine goals marked the most goals allowed in a single game this season by Moose Jaw as they were outshot 51-19 in the game. The Warriors enter with a 2-9-3-0 record on the road this season having lost their last four away from home.
Tonight will be the third of five meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Warriors; Lethbridge has posted a 2-0-0-0 record against Moose Jaw this season having outscored them 11-6 in the two contests.
Newcomers Brayden Yager and Jackson Unger will make their Hurricane debuts against their former team after being acquired from the Warriors on Monday afternoon. Landen Ward and Brady Smith will be in the lineup for Moose Jaw as they will also play their former team a day after the trade.

VS. WARRIORS: Tonight will be the third of five meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Warriors. Jet-Is-In: On December 2nd, the Hurricanes announced the acquisition of Winnipeg Jets prospect Brayden Yager from the Moose Jaw Warriors. The former first-round NHL draft pick has appeared in 232 career games totaling 280 career points (115g-165a) along with 60 penalty minutes with Moose Jaw. He was named to the Canadian Selection Camp for the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship on Monday.
South Paw: The ‘Canes acquired goaltender Jackson Unger from the Warriors in a blockbuster trade along with Brayden Yager on December 2nd. He has appeared in 255 career games for the Hurricanes as he sits tied with Brady Ramsay for 15th all-time in Hurricanes history. The former third-round draft pick (60th overall) in the 2019 draft is also ranked eighth all-time in defenceman scoring in ‘Canes history sitting one point back of Terry Hollinger (126) for seventh in team history.
November Review: Lethbridge ended the month of November on a six-game losing streak having posted an 0-5-0-1 record in their final six games. The Hurricanes ended the month traveling over 7,000 kilometres while going 4-7-0-1 in 12 games, nine of which were on the road.
Gone Streakin’: Brayden Edwards had a career-long 11-game point streak end on Wednesday in Everett. He racked up 18 points (7g-11a) on his streak. The Abbotsford, BC, product was the first Hurricane to register points in 10-or-more games since Oliver Okuliar had both a 10 and 11-game point streak in 2019-2020. Miggy Wiggy: Nashville Predators prospect Miguel Marques enters tonight with points in three of his last four games having collected three points (1g-2a) in that span. The Prince George, BC, product has recorded points in 24 of 35 games totaling 44 points (15g-29a) dating back to last year. He is on pace for 90 points.
Do The Worm: Hurricanes 19-year-old forward Logan Wormald has been on a tear to start the new season.
