GAME DAY: Hurricanes Visit Thunderbirds
Kent, WA – The Lethbridge Hurricanes begin a three-in-three road trip in the United States tonight as they visit the Seattle Thunderbirds at 8:30pm MT.
The Hurricanes (24-13-4-4) enter having been off since a 2-1 victory last Saturday in Red Deer against the Rebels. Carl Tetachuk made 35 saves in the win while Jake Leschyshyn and Jackson Shepard scored in the winning cause. The ‘Canes enter tonight sitting third place in the Central Division, just one point back of the Rebels for second and only two back of the Edmonton Oil Kings for first.
The Thunderbirds (17-21-4-1) are coming off a 2-1 victory on Tuesday over the Spokane Chiefs at the accesso ShoWare Center. Matthew Wedman and Nolan Volcan scored in the win for Seattle. The T-Birds enter tonight 5-0-0-1 in their last six games and 6-1-0-1 in their last eight.
Tonight will be the only meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and Thunderbirds; the ‘Canes have lost the last two meetings between the two teams. The ‘Canes have not won in Seattle since December 27th, 2004 at Key Arena.
VS. THUNDERBIRDS: Tonight will be the first and only meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and the Thunderbirds. The Hurricanes were handed a 7-4 loss last year in the lone meeting against the T-Birds. Lethbridge’s last win in Seattle was a 3-2 victory on December 27th, 2004 at Key Arena.
