GAME DAY: Hurricanes Make Final Trip Ever to Cranbrook
Cranbrook, BC – The Lethbridge Hurricanes continue a busy stretch this afternoon at 2:00pm as they visit the Kootenay Ice at Western Financial Place for the final time ever.
The Hurricanes (29-17-5-5) are coming off a 5-2 loss on Saturday to the Saskatoon Blades that ended a two-game winning streak. Taylor Ross and Jake Elmer scored the goals in the losing cause while Carl Tetachuk made 38 saves. The Hurricanes enter tonight 6-6-1-1 in their last 14 games.
The Ice (11-36-7-1) are also coming off a loss to the Saskatoon Blades as they were downed 8-3 on Friday at home. Kootenay received goals from Peyton Krebs, Jaeger White and Martin Bodak in the defeat. The Ice enter play tonight having lost four straight and posting a record of 2-7-1-0 in their last 10 games.
Tonight will be the final ever meeting between the two teams as Kootenay will relocate to Winnipeg for the start of next season. The Hurricanes have posted a 11-1-0-0 record in the last 12 meetings, including a perfect 5-0-0-0 this year.
VS. ICE: Tonight will be the final of six meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and the Ice. It will also be the very last time the two teams will ever meet as Kootenay will relocate to Winnipeg for the start of next season.
