GAME DAY: Hurricanes Kick Off 2020 Against Thunderbirds
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes begin the new decade tonight as they welcome the Seattle Thunderbirds to the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm.
The Hurricanes (23-10-0-5) enter on a three-game winning streak after back-to-back wins over the Swift Current Broncos to end 2019. The ‘Canes earned a 3-1 win on Monday in Swift Current. Justin Hall scored twice, including the game-winning goal, while Logan Barlage added the other. Lethbridge enters tonight on a four-game home winning streak having posted a 11-5-0-4 record at the ENMAX Centre.
The Thunderbirds (13-19-2-1) enter on a two-game losing streak after a pair of losses to the Portland Winterhawks. The T-Birds were downed 3-2 on New Years Eve in Portland. Cade McNelly and Conner Bruggen-Cate scored in the defeat while Roddy Ross made 47 saves. Seattle enters with a 6-9-1-1 record on the road this season.
Tonight is the only meeting of the year between the Hurricanes and the Thunderbirds; the road team has won two straight meetings between the two dating back to October 2017. VS. THUNDERBIRDS: Tonight will be the only meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and the Thunderbirds. Lethbridge earned a 4-3 win in their last meeting in Seattle last season while the T-Birds earned a 7-4 win in their last visit to the ENMAX Centre on October 29th, 2017.
