GAME DAY: Hurricanes End Regular Season in Medicine Hat
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will conclude the 2023-2024 regular season tonight at 7:00pm as they visit the Medicine Hat Tigers at Co-op Place.
The Hurricanes (32-28-7-0) enter after suffering a second-straight 3-2 overtime loss on Friday falling to the Tigers at the ENMAX Centre. Logan Wormald and Brayden Edwards scored in the defeat while Harrison Meneghin made a career-high 53-saves. The ‘Canes extended their point-streak to four-straight games in the loss. Lethbridge enters with a 5-0-1-0 record in their last six road games while they sit with a 14-18-1-0 record on the road this season.
The Tigers (37-23-5-2) earned their second-straight win with the 3-2 victory in Lethbridge on Friday. Bogdans Hodass and Gavin McKenna scored in regulation before Oasiz Wiesblatt scored his 10th game-winning goal of the season in overtime; Ethan McCallum was strong making 33-saves in the win. Medicine Hat enters tonight with a 21-7-4-1 record at home this season having won their last two at Co-op Place.
Tonight will be the final meeting of the season and the final game of the regular season for both the Hurricanes and Tigers; Lethbridge has posted a 4-3-1-0 record against Medicine Hat so far this season. Thru 67: The Hurricanes enter tonight with a 32-28-7-0 record (71 points) on the season after 67 games. The ‘Canes went 18-10-6-0 at home and 14-18-1-0 on the road so far this season. Clinched: The ‘Canes clinched a berth in the 2024 WHL Playoffs on Saturday with a 3-2 overtime win in Red Deer against the Rebels. It marks the eighth straight season the Hurricanes have qualified for the post-season – the longest stretch in team history. Lethbridge will face the Swift Current Broncos in the first-round of the 2024 WHL Playoffs beginning on Friday, March 29th.

Meneghin sits one win shy of Dusty Imoo (47) for eighth all-time.
NHL Ink: Hurricanes defenceman Noah Chadwick signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on December 22nd. The Saskatoon, SK, product was a sixth-round (185th overall) selection by the Leafs in the 2023 NHL Draft. He became the first ‘Cane since Dylan Cozens (BUF) to sign an ELC deal. Chadwick has recorded 56 points (12g-44a) in 65 games with the Hurricanes this season. He became the first ‘Canes defenceman to record 50+ points in a season since Alex Cotton (67) and Calen Addison (52) accomplished the feat during the 2019-2020 regular season.
