Wednesday, February 22nd – 3-1 Loss vs. Moose Jaw Warriors: The Hurricanes were handed their first regulation loss on home ice in three months on Wednesday as they were handed a 3-1 defeat. Jordy Bellerive scored the lone goal. The ‘Canes clinched a playoff spot despite the loss.
Friday, February 24th – 4-3 Win vs. Brandon Wheat Kings: The Hurricanes clinched home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs with a 4-3 win Friday against the Wheat Kings. Matt Alfaro scored twice including the game winning goal in the victory.
Saturday, February 25th – 5-3 Win at Kootenay Ice: The ‘Canes received a pair of goals from both Tyler Wong and Matt Alfaro as they kicked off a five game road trip with a 5-3 win over the Kootenay Ice in Cranbrook. Tanner Nagel scored the other goal in the victory.
THIS WEEK’S GAME SCHEDULE
Tuesday, February 28th, 6:00pm at Regina Pats: The Hurricanes begin a four game in five night stretch as they face the Regina Pats on Tuesday. The ‘Canes are 1-2-0-0 this season against the Pats having won the last meeting 5-4 in overtime on December 7th.
Wednesday, March 1st, 6:00pm at Brandon Wheat Kings: The ‘Canes face the Wheat Kings for the second time in five nights on Wednesday as they wrap up the season series against the defending WHL Champions. The ‘Canes are 2-1-0-0 this season against Brandon.
Friday, March 3rd, 6:00pm at Prince Albert Raiders: The Hurricanes will look for the season sweep as they make their final visit to Hockey Town North to face the Prince Albert Raiders. The ‘Canes have won all three meetings this season so far.
Saturday, March 4th, 6:00pm at Saskatoon Blades: The ‘Canes kick off a stretch of five straight games away from home on Saturday as they travel to take on the Kootenay Ice. It will be the final trip to Cranbrook this season for the ‘Canes who have posted a 3-2-0-0 record against the Ice this year

Back to the Post-Season: The ‘Canes clinched their second straight playoff spot on Wednesday, February 22nd becoming the third team in the WHL to clinch a playoff berth. The ‘Canes then clinched home ice advantage in the first round of the post-season with a 4-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings on February 24th. The ‘Canes cannot finish worse than second in the Central Division.
